According to the U.S. Energy Administration, the average national price for a gallon of unleaded gasoline on July 20, 2015 was $2.66. In the Los Angeles area, where I live, at the low priced stations I use, the price per gallon was $4.25 to $4.35.

Because in our one-party state, where fools like Jerry Brown and super-majorities of Democrats are regularly elected, regressive taxes on the middle and lower economic classes are levied as the politicians are indebted ideologically and financially to the wealthy greens who infest San Francisco and the State's coastal areas in the South. To the well-off, gasoline and sales taxes mean nothing. To the everyday gal or guy, they bite like hungry mosquitos. Even in California, you would think a disparity close to $2.00 a gallon would be noticed by some. Nope. Our newspapers, such as the L.A. Times, (ugh) or San Francisco's Chronicle would have something to say. Not a peep from a single "reporter" or "journalist" or "editorialist". Nada; the now requisite word.
These sanctuary city, illegal-alien loving rags don't much care how much their peons pay in gasoline taxes so long as they vote democrat. You might think the head of Los Angeles' Catholic Church, a guy named Gomez naturally, would have a few words about it. Not a prayer. He conducts huge allegedly religious meetings to demand Obama grant total amnesty to all illegal aliens and Mexicans like himself. Democrats want more illegals as voters; bishops want more as parishioners and donors.

Those are the underlying reasons why the former Golden State has the highest number and percentage of its 40 million residents holding out their rice bowls federal aid, paid for by the white people they despise.

Tell me again why you are surprised that Donald Trump is so popular among many in the United States?
